1974年8月7日出生於美國，好萊塢資深演技派男星，2008年他以《真愛旅程》（Revolutionary Road）入圍奧斯卡金像獎最佳男配角獎；2016年再以《夜行動物》（Nocturnal Animals）入圍奧斯卡金像獎最佳男配角獎。他還演過《珍珠港》（Pearl Harbor,2001）、《絕地戰警2》（Bad Boys 2,2003）、《世貿中心》（World Trade Center,2006）、《歷劫重生》（Take Shelter,2011）、《超人：鋼鐵英雄》（Man of Steel,2013）等電影。
